:::: EVALUATION ::::

This has been for a fact the biggest learning curve since the start of the course for me. I have had to learn and apply new skills that I had no experience in a given time.  I wanted from the beginning to be able to have a balance between the concept and visual development and the technical skills I was learning to be able to develop in the future.

I didn’t think I would be as interested and driven by moving image as much as I now having completed the briefs. It’s a new media tool that I want to defiantly pursue in the future, because it has really helped me understand now only the basics of designing for screen, but also has given me a new way or working and considering my organisation and the way I develop and present my idea’s. These are skills I can use in any aspect of design, which is I think the biggest achievement for me in terms of this module.

I have looked at a load of different animations and title sequences, which inspired my work and made me, want to aim higher. The theme I had chosen to tackle was the circus from a very feminine point of view. I worked a lot on how appropriate the visuals where to the theme and really wanted to step out of my comfort zone and simplify my ideas and visuals as much as I could, and realised that it worked well because it was appropriate.

 I was however too ambitious for the way in which I was going to technically produce the final sequence. I originally wanted it to be a fully animated sequence, but then realised it wasn’t the most appropriate way of working considering the time I had and the skills I had. So this module has really been about compromise in both the silent movie and top ten brief.

The strongest elements of this module for me was the way in which I organised my time and the way of working, producing storyboards, and working on them in different stages before working in after-effect. I think the fact I had digital storyboards as well as drawn ones really helped me save a lot of time and make quick decisions on what working and what wasn’t.

 It also allowed me to change them quickly as well. I also think that the work I have produces is consistent, I have found myself in previous modules working and producing some products that didn’t really fit in with the others. In this case all my indents, final sequence and packaging link in well with each other and work as a set.

My weakness was the documentation of my work. I think I could have a more continuous body of work if I had managed my time in relations to this better and documented when it was still fresh rather then a few days later.

::: 5 THINGS I WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY :::
